Alabama Optical Lab was started in July 1999, by Grady Stone ABOC. as an in-house lab for the Eye Lab Vision Center Inc. From there we expanded to produce lenses for other optical offices, in 2002 Jonathan Stone joined the business as a polish operator and learned the business from there, now acting as lab manager; Jonathan oversees lab production, Alabama Optical Lab now employs 12 employees and soon will be a Free Form Lab.
Grady has been in the optical business since August of 1975, working for Shuron Continental in lens production when plastic lenses first came on the market. Grady then went on working in a surfacing lab for many years while completing his education in Business Administration and also Optical technology from Wallace Stated College. Grady continues to serve as CEO of operations with Alabama Optical Lab.
